ClocktowerStudents should SIGN UP in the Student Activities Office for any workshops they plan on attending.  They will receive credit toward the Student Development Series by participating.  These are also credit options for those enrolled in the Leadership Certificate program!

Resume and Cover Letter Writing Techniques

This workshop will discuss how to create an acceptable resume and cover letter.  Various types of resume formats will be covered and students will learn about resume scanning – what it is and how to make sure it gets read.  Participants are encouraged to bring their current resumes to work with!

Do you have a question about college life, or life after college?  Looking to meet some new friends and discuss topics that are important to you?  Join us for a fireside chat session and just relax and discuss a particular topic or interest area!  Past topics have included Texting while Driving, political views, career and transfer issues or concerns, job market questions and a host of other topics.

SIGN UP in the Student Activities Office through October 27th, 2010!  Cost: $1.00 (required upon sign up) and one canned good per person (to be brought the night of).  The canned goods will be donated to GCC’s Food Pantry.  We are also asking for gently-used winter apparel for all ages which will be donated to Community Action Center of Genesee and Orleans Counties.  There will be pizza provided on the 29th and a continental style breakfast on the 30th.  All clubs and organizations are encouraged to participate.  We will be starting with a presentation in T102 at 8pm, followed by student and Forum Player performances in the Student Union, and later watching the movie, “The Pursuit of Happyness” starring Will Smith.  Bring tents and/or cardboard boxes and sleeping bags.  If the weather does not permit sleeping outside we will be sleeping in the Student Union.
