As I hope everyone knows by now, Dr. Stuart Steiner, President of Genesee is retiring this summer. There is a search underway for his replacement. The memo below is from Diane Torcello, a member of the College’s Board of Trustees, who is chairing the search committee.

RE: Presidential Search Update
I am writing to provide another update on the search for our next president. The search committee met most recently on February 8th and selected nine candidates to be invited to participate in confidential preliminary interviews with the search committee. These candidates were selected on the basis of reference calls made by the committee and our consultant on a larger number of individuals whose background and experience seemed especially consistent with the presidential qualities and qualifications established for our search. On completion of preliminary interviews, the committee will select three or four candidates who will be recommended to the Board as finalists and who will be invited to participate in more extensive on-campus interviews in March with a broad range of constituents.
The committee is very pleased with the quality of the semi-finalist candidates and is confident that the search will move to finalist interviews on campus in March. If you have any questions, please direct them to me or to Robert Parilla, our consultant.
Thank you again for your interest and support.
