Last January, Genesee started a project where we offered classes on 8 Sundays. The idea is to offer an option to working adults who have families where attending classes at night or even Saturdays just wasn’t going to work.
We had fun and it was a good project in the Spring, so we’ve expanded the options for the Fall 2011 semester.
Here’s a link to the live schedule: http://www.genesee.edu/academics/options/dspOptionDetails/?option=sundays&jsEnabled=1 Click there on a class title for more information.
Half of these courses start Sunday, August 28 and end October 16; the other half start Sunday, October 17 and end December 12.
These courses will run, even with small class sizes. (Well, maybe not if there’s only 1 person. Gotta be honest!) That’s the beauty. Small classes, lots of instructor attention and you’re done in 8 weeks!
These are what we call “hybrid” classes. There will be work that you need to do outside of class, so don’t think that all you need to do is go to class. You’re going to class half as often as a ‘regular’ class, so there will be twice as much homework. Don’t let that scare you, but you do need to think about it.
I’ll talk more about hybrid over the next week or so. Questions? Do ask!
Look it over and see if it fits into your life!
