It’s November already! Whoa…
That means it’s time to write my fingers to the bone! ::grin::
“NaNoWriMo” is short for National Novel Writing Month. This is an international effort to promote writing by challenging its members to write 50,000 words by the end of the month. They have a cool web site: http://www.nanowrimo.org that you should check out if you’re interested in more.
Now, 50,000 is an abstract number but that means averaging just over 1600 words a day! This post is only going to be about 230-ish words by the time I’m done. So to get to the goal, I need to write almost 10 times this before the end of the day.
Well, I do a ‘mini-NaNo’ in that I make a smaller and more realistic (for me) word goal. I’ve commited to writing 350 words a day (on non-work things!) for the entire month. That should be just over 10,000 words for the basic goal.
I really have a goal about 30,000 words before I’m done but there will be days that the 350 words will be about all I get done. A lot of other things in my life won’t get done because I’m writing for NaNo.
If you’re really interested, I’ll make a blog post occasionally giving you an update. I’ll also update the Page here that has NaNoWriMo on the tab above… it’s at the top. stop by occasionally and cheer me on!
