Blackboard Student Webinar

Some of you are struggling with the new Blackboard system!

Going to happen… it’s new and faculty are just learning it, too!

Here’s an effort to try to give some direction to students using the new system.

On Thursday, September 6 at 3:00 pm (EDT), Judie Littlejohn from eLearning and I will host a webinar on “Being a Student in Blackboard” — everyone is welcome to attend!

This is the link to the webinar: https://sas.elluminate.com/m.jnlp?sid=2010020&password=M.A064804201DB2FE26B29B158AFD1CB — you can start logging in about 2:45 pm and we’ll do a sound check before we start at 3:00.

Follow the link, click “Run” when it asks, agree to the player plug-in and enter a name when it finally lets you in.

You only need speakers and an internet connection; we will be doing the talking and you’ll use the Chat to ask questions.

We’ll be covering:

  • submitting assignments
  • taking quizzes
  • participating in discussions
  • opening files (there’s been problems; we can show you how to work around it)
  • email vs messaging

Probably more, but that’ll get us started. If you have something in particular that needs to be covered, drop me a note (mjheider@genesee.edu) or leave a message here.

We’ll be recording this and making it available after the fact.
